Polka Music Sound consists of 6 musicians with many years of experience in polka music and beyond.
Benny Prill plays accordion with Polka Music Sound. From the bars and dance halls in a little
town called Kinde, Michigan, Benny has been playing the accordion for over 55 years. His "old style" playing in
two piece groups and full orchestras have propelled his career as a polka musician. In his many years of performing,
Benny has received numerous awards and honors. One of his biggest acheivements was being inducted into the Michigan
State Polka Music Hall of Fame. He is also active in the polka field as a promoter and has strived to preserve what
he believes is the traditional sound and traditional roots of polka music. He is married to his wife, Betty, and they
have three adult children. Benny has just retired from the United States Postal Service after 42 years of service.
Jason Maurer plays bass with Polka Music Sound. Jason is one of the greatest guy's you'll ever
meet. Jason's musical career includes performing with CJ and the Krue, and previously with Mark Janson's Brass
Express. He doesn't stop there as he is also plays tuba with the Frankentrost Band and excels in piano and keyboards
in church and in various other groups. Jason is influenced by bass greats like Dave "Nigel" Kurdziel and Vince Bozzarelli.
He is very creative in his playing ability and is a thorough professional. Jason is currently employed at the Saginaw
News and is single. In other words, he's available.
Frank Majchrowski plays Alto Sax, Clarinet and Fiddle. An integral part of the band harmonically.
Frank, along with Joe helps to co-arrange many of the dynamic horn parts so essential to the bands unique overall sound. Frank's inspiration
and musical motivation for polka music comes from his late father Frank Sr. who played accordion and drums. It was his guiding
influence through Frank Jrs. developmental years that led to his profound love of polka music. Everything Frank performs musically
is with the fond inspiration of his fathers memory. Frank is also well versed in other musical fields such as early
rock and roll and ballroom music. Frank's musicial career includes performing with Walt Mislik's Orchestra, the
Harold Mitas Orchestra, the Tenbusch Brothers, the Andy Nester Orchestra, and the Sparkletones. Frank is happily
married to his wife, Gail, and is employed at Delphi.
Terry Kosiara is the lead vocalist and plays drums. Terry's interest in polka music began at a
very young age based upon his upbringing and his family's love for polka music. Old Li'l Wally recordings never lasted
long at his house because he played them constantly. By listening to these recordings, he honed his vocal
skills at the record player by singing along with the likes of Wally and other greats like Eddie Blazonczyk, Sr. The
Dyna-Brass was his first calling as a polka musician and after his departure, he was recruited by his brother-in-law, Gerald
to join PMS. Terry is employed as a corrections officer with the State of Michigan. He and his wife, Jody, have
two boys named Tadziu and Edziu.
Gerald Prill is the leader of PMS. He plays accordion, concertina, keyboards and guitar.
At age 4, Gerald started in the polka field with his dad, Benny and played drums. As time went on, Gerald
gained an interest in other instruments and began playing the accordion. As a matter of fact, Gerald picked up the accordion
around 1988 and began "playing on the fly" with Jeff Mleczko's Dyna-Brass. After approximately 2 years and
law school approaching, Gerald stepped aside and played with local groups until he was recruited by Paul Romanowski's "Michigan
Connection." Gerald played accordion and bass in that group for a number of years but a legal career and a family required
him to step aside prior to their disbandment. His interest in learning other instruments inspired him to study concertina,
guitar and piano. Never wishing to leave the field, Gerald performed with Mark Janson's Brass Express then
was recruited by Joe Toma and his dad, to start PMS.
Joe Toma plays trumpet and arranges a majority of the music with PMS. Joe has numerous years of
polka experience with various Michigan groups including the Mike Jureka Band and Jim Kreszewski's Harmony Jacs.
Joe also toured with the Harold Mitas Orchestra and the Tenbusch Brothers. He was an integral part in
each group he performed with based on his creativity and arranging experience. He is the "glue" with Polka
Music Sound and his work ethic and professionalism are second to none. His hobbies include music, sports,
coaching, and camping. Joe is happily married to his wife, Jill, and they have four children. He is employed with
EDS.
